Scientific Data Analytics

The increasing abundance of climatological, hydrological, and remote sensing ‘big’ environmental data in the public domain nowadays calls for enhanced data analysis, data handling, data management and data integration methodologies to translate scientific data to knowledge products that are informative, intuitive, understandable and supportive in water resources decision making. Inspyr knows what data is available, how to access it, and how to translate data into useful integrated products. We can combine data with objective-specific hydrological simulation models in hydroinformative products. We are specialized in visualizing and converting complex results of numerical models to comprehensible information for policy makers.

We specialize in the automation of data display capabilities to efficiently process large quantities of data. Our team is constantly developing new and innovative display capabilities to illustrate data through informative, accurate, and easy to understand mediums.

Our developers have pioneered state-of-the-art data management and visualization techniques of datasets for the National Weather Service. The short-range configuration of the National Water Model produces over 1 billion streamflow data points per day, requiring the use of cutting-edge technologies and the development of novel solutions. Tasks in this project include the development of an automation pipeline that watches and downloads the latest forecasts, initiates post-processing on the datasets, and updates spatial web services with the resulting visualizations in near-real time.

Numerical Modeling Development

Inspyr has broad experience developing and supporting numerical prediction models that use mathematical representations of the atmosphere, oceans and land surface to predict the weather and hydrologic response based on current weather conditions.

This expertise includes Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) models. Our team is adept at manipulating the very large datasets and performing the complex calculations necessary for modern numerical prediction, techniques that often require use of powerful supercomputers. The Inspyr team excels at mathematical modeling of all facets of the weather and hydrologic sciences from rainfall-runoff, to hydrodynamic routing, to water quality to controlled systems.
